Actions

Actions is where Thout turns talk into done. It drafts follow-ups from your meetings and — once you approve — sends them to the right channel. This guide covers the four tabs (Action Plan, Auto-executed, Suggestions, Meeting Prep), reviewing and approving drafts, checking the evidence behind each one, and tracking what's been executed.

What the Actions page is

Actions is Thout's execution layer — "conversation in, execution out. AI handles the work, you just approve." Thout drafts the follow-ups from your meetings; you review and approve, and it sends them to the right channel (such as Email or Slack).

How to review and approve actions

On the Action Plan tab, each card is an action Thout has drafted and is waiting for your go-ahead.

Review & approve

Hi Meridian team — confirming our revised launch window: first shipment lands April 14. Could you confirm the packaging timeline by Friday?

Meeting evidence
Approve & Send
An action card — priority and channel badges, the draft to approve, evidence, and Approve & Send.

What's on an action card

  • A priority badge (Critical, High, Medium) and a channel badge (for example Email or Slack) — where it will be sent.
  • A status (for example Pending) and the source meeting with date.
  • A Review & approve box with the draft — tick or untick it to include it.
  • A Meeting evidence drawer — click it to read the exact transcript quote the action came from.
  • Feedback thumbs — Helpful / Not helpful.

Approve and send

  1. Review the draft; edit your selection with the checkbox if needed.
  2. Click Approve & Send on the card — or Execute All in the Action Plan banner to send every selected action at once.
  3. The card flips to an in-progress state immediately, then moves to Auto-executed once it completes.

Note: actions send through connected channels. If the channel for an action isn't connected yet, Thout will prompt you to sort that out before it can send.

Suggestions and Meeting Prep

Suggestions

The Suggestions tab holds "ideas AI detected from your conversations." They're lighter than actions — things worth considering.

  • Click Mark done to clear a suggestion.
  • Click Add action to promote a suggestion into the approval flow as a full action.
  • Open Meeting evidence to see where it came from, and give Was this useful? feedback.

Meeting Prep

The Meeting Prep tab gives "AI briefings for your upcoming meetings, with context from past conversations."

  • Each upcoming meeting shows its time, attendees, and a prep status (for example No prep yet).
  • Click Prepare with CoS to generate the briefing for that meeting.

Tracking executed actions

The Auto-executed tab is your record of what Thout has already done — "these actions were completed for you based on meeting outcomes."

The Auto-executed tab — completed actions marked Done.
  • Each card shows a Done status with the title struck through.
  • The priority and type badges and the source meeting stay visible for reference.
  • Open Meeting evidence to see the quote behind it, and leave Helpful / Not helpful feedback.

Actions tips & FAQ

What's the difference between an action and a suggestion?

An action is a drafted, ready-to-send task in the Action Plan; a suggestion is a lighter idea in Suggestions that you can promote into an action with Add action.

Where does an approved action actually go?

To the channel shown on its badge — for example Email or Slack. If that channel isn't connected, Thout will ask you to connect or reassign it first.

Can I send everything at once?

Yes — use Execute All in the Action Plan banner to send every selected action in one go.

What if an action fails to send?

The card returns from its in-progress state and lets you try again, so a failed send never disappears silently.

How do I check evidence before approving?

Click the Meeting evidence drawer on the card to read the exact transcript quote that produced the draft.

What does "No prep yet" mean on Meeting Prep?

No briefing has been generated for that meeting yet. Click Prepare with CoS to create one.
