Three ways to bring audio into Thout

Thout turns audio into a transcript and insights. There are three ways to get audio in, all from the Meetings page:

After capture, all three converge: Thout transcribes the audio (see Transcripts) and generates the analysis (see Insights & Analytics). While that runs, the meeting shows Generating insights...

How to record a live voice note

Record audio straight from your browser — Thout transcribes and summarises it automatically.

1. On the Meetings page click the microphone button (or More capture options > Record a voice note).
2. Grant microphone access when your browser asks. Recording begins in the New live audio window.
3. While recording you'll see a live waveform, an elapsed timer, and the status Audio recording...

Pause, resume, end, or delete

• Pause — suspends recording; the status changes to Audio paused... and the button becomes Resume.
• Resume — continues the same recording where you left off.
• End — finishes the recording and hands it to transcription (the meeting shows Generating insights...).
• The trash icon discards the recording — a Delete Recording? prompt confirms it will be permanently deleted.

How to upload an audio file

Already have a recording? Upload the file and Thout will transcribe and summarise it.

1. On the Meetings page click More capture options > Audio upload.
2. In the Add an audio file window, drag a file onto the drop zone or click Browse files.
3. Thout uploads the file, then transcribes and generates notes.
