Transcripts
The transcript is the verbatim, speaker-by-speaker record of a captured meeting. This guide covers opening a transcript, correcting speaker names, and downloading it as CSV or PDF. (For the summarised analysis built from the transcript, see the Insights & Analytics guide.)
How to open a meeting transcript
The transcript is the raw text behind the insights (see the Insights & Analytics guide).
- Open a captured meeting from the Meetings page.
- Click ⋯ (More options) > View transcript.
- The Transcript page opens, listing each turn as a speaker name above the text they spoke.

How to fix speaker names
When Thout can't identify who was talking, it labels turns generically (for example SPEAKER_25). You can correct these directly in the transcript.
Rename a speaker inline
- Click the speaker name on any turn.
- The name becomes an editable field with a ✗ (cancel) and ✓ (confirm) control. Every turn by that speaker updates together.
- Type the correct name and click ✓ to confirm, or ✗ to cancel.
The sample run arrives Thursday, so packaging sign-off can happen Friday.
Updates all turns by this speaker
Note: once a speaker has been identified, their turns show the real name (for example "Jordan Lee") instead of a generic label.

Transcript tips & FAQ
What do labels like "SPEAKER_25" mean?
Thout couldn't match that voice to a name, so it used a generic label. Click the label to rename it — see How to fix speaker names.
If I rename a speaker once, does it fix every line?
Yes. Renaming a speaker inline updates all of that speaker's turns in the transcript at once.
How do I get the transcript into a spreadsheet?
Use ⋯ > Download as CSV — each turn becomes a row with speaker and text.
Where is the transcript for a live meeting?
For an in-progress meeting, the transcript updates as the conversation continues. The full record is available on the Transcript page once the meeting is captured.
The transcript text looks garbled — why?
Transcription quality depends on the audio. Poor or overlapping audio can produce fragmented text; the meeting's insights flag this with a low-confidence badge (see the Insights & Analytics guide).
